After five years, one of Siófok's most beloved attractions is back: the Galerius Experience Bath and Wellness Centre reopened on 1 April 2026, completely transformed. What Happened to Galerius? – The Story of the Renovation

The Galerius Bath first opened its doors in 2006, quickly becoming a favourite among Siófok holidaymakers. In 2021, however, it was forced to close: an expert inspection found that the ventilation system and ceiling were in a dangerous condition.

For four to five years, the bath's future was uncertain. Eventually, the city council made its decision: rather than demolish it, they would fully renovate it. The total investment came to 1.8 billion forints – of which 900 million was funded by the European Union through the TOP Plus grant programme, 300 million was contributed by the City of Siófok, and the remainder was covered by a credit facility.

The result: a fully modern, sustainable experience bath for all ages – one that rightly reclaims its place at the top of every Balaton must-do list.
